The Department’s goal is to encourage understanding and better communication between our young citizens and the Police Department. The academy is free to students who live and attend school in Rowlett and include information on the different divisions of the police department including Patrol, SWAT, Negotiating and Dispatch, just to name a few. Weather permitting, the kids are also treated to a free trip to the Wet Zone! The Youth Academy is held for 5th and 6th grade students and the Teen Academy is held for 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students.
