The Board of Adjustment is comprised of five regular members appointed by City Council who serve staggered two-year terms and four alternate members appointed by City Council annually.

Duties and responsibilities of the Board of Adjustment include hearing requests for variances and special exceptions to the City’s Zoning Ordinance. As authorized by local ordinance and State law, the Board has the power to:
The Board of Adjustment meets once a month on an as needed basis with the typical meeting length of one hour. In addition to the monthly meetings, the Board of Adjustment may be required to attend a joint meeting with the City Council and Planning and Zoning Commission should there be a subject matter pertaining to the Board being discussed. Applications are available in the City Secretary’s Office in the City Hall Municipal Center at 4000 Main Street.
