1. What are the visiting hours, and who is allowed to visit an inmate?

Prisoner visitation is on the following days and times:

Saturdays: 6:30pm - 7:30pm

Mondays: 6:30pm - 7:30pm

Wednesdays: 9:30am - 10:30am

Visitation is limited to the following:

Immediate family only (defined as mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter, spouse, grandparents)

No more than 2 visitors at a time

Visitors will be restricted to adults 17 years of age or older

An exception would be a juvenile who is accompanied by an adult, or if the juvenile is the legal spouse of the prisoner

Clergy (ministers) shall be permitted to visit at any time

Attorneys shall be permitted to visit any time

Who is not allowed to visit:

Friends of the inmate

Boyfriends

Girlfriends

Roommates

Common-law spouses

Valid U.S. government-issued ID must be presented in order to visit an inmate. No exceptions will be made. If your driver’s license or ID card is expired, you will not be allowed to visit an inmate. All visitors are subject to a computer check prior to being allowed into the visitation area.

2. How do I reclaim my towed vehicle?

Currently the Rowlett Police Department utilizes four wrecker companies:

3. Are we allowed to bring medication to an inmate?

A person may bring medication to an inmate as long as it is:

A current and valid prescription

In the prisoner's name

Filled within the last six months

Not over-the-counter medication - no exceptions

4. Is fingerprinting available to the general public?

NOTICE - This service has been temporarily suspended until further notice.

Fingerprinting is available to the general public on the following dates and times: Tuesday and Thursday, 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m.

• There is a flat fee of $5.00 (4 card maximum).  Printing additional cards will cost $5.00 per set (2 cards).
• Payment Methods are:
• Cash (Exactly $5.00 if you supply your own fingerprint cards) or $5.00 each (if we have to provide the cards to you). Amount paid must be exact. No change can be made.
• Visa or Mastercard
• Personal Checks are also acceptable. Checks should be made payable to the City of Rowlett (include your TX DL number and D.O.B. on check)

5. Where can I find out about bonding information for someone currently in custody at the Rowlett Detention Center?

You may contact the Rowlett Detention Center one of two ways:

By calling 972-412-6200 Option # 2 for the jail. You will need to give the Detention Officer the name of the inmate you are inquiring about.

Coming to the Rowlett Police Department located at 4401 Rowlett Rd. Rowlett, TX. Once you arrive, simply walk into the lobby, and pick up the white courtesy phone marked JAIL and press the button. One of the Detention Officers on duty will answer, and assist you.

6. How do I bond someone out?

If you are wanting to bond someone out you will need to know if they are being held on a Class "C" misdemeanor charge (i.e. FMFR, Public Intox, etc.)or on a warrant. If they are being held on a Class "C", you may post their bond here at the Police Department. You may pay by the following ways:

• Cash (Exact Amount, we cannot make change)
• Credit Card(MasterCard/Visa) for Rowlett PD charges only. The name on the credit card must match to the name on the Drivers License
• Money Order(s) or Cashier's Checks made payable to the City of Rowlett.
• Attorney Bonds may be posted. You will need to contact a Bail Bond Company to arrange this to be done. If the person is being held for a Class "B" or above charge, and the charge will be filed through Dallas County, you will either need to pay the money at Dallas County (Lew Sterritt) or go through a Bail Bonds Company. If you do not post a bond, then the inmate will be transferred to Lew Sterritt. If the person is being held for a Class "B" or above charge, and the charge will be filed through Rockwall County, you may post a Cash Bond at Rowlett PD. Only cash will be accepted. If you would like to post a Surety Bond, then you may contact a Rockwall County Bail Bonds Company to post the bond. Dallas County Bonds will be accepted.
